Many guests come to our Agriturismo simply
to relax, walk through the country, and eat
and drink Umbrian products. But for the more
energetic vacationer, Parrano offers attractive
sightseeing opportunities. The area surrounding
Parrano is part of a protected zone which
safeguards its natural beauty. During the
designated season, there is hunting for pheasant,
hare and wild boar. In autumn you can hunt
for mushrooms and truffles in the woods. Within
a radius of 6 Km (4 miles) there are two centers
for horse trekking, two public swimming pools,
tennis courts, an important clay pigeon shooting
center, fishing and trekking along the Chiani
river, and prehistoric caves.
Attività in azienda: swimming pool
(Poggio della Capretta e La Villa); a large
pond with fish; a playground for children;
horses (with expert attendants) for riding
through miles of trails.

Horseback
Riding and Bicycle Tours
From April to June and from September to November,
the Agriturismo 'La Capretta' organizes riding
and cycling weeks that take you through Umbria's
natural and cultural attractions. The weeks
are organized for groups of at least 6 riders
or cyclists. The Agriturismo requires a notice
of at least 30 days and a deposit of 25% of
the cost into the bank account at Monte dei
Paschi di Siena under the name Francesco de
Sanctis: c/c n. ABI CAB.
Horses:
We have 6 mares, 9 to 13 years old, of perfect
temperament: 2 Anglo-Arabs, 2 Italian "Maremmane"
horses, 1 Dutch Warmblut, and 1 Argentinean
Criollo. Clients can bring their own horses
if they prefer.
Bikes: We have
mountain bikes in perfect condition. The cycling
itineraries are on roads with light traffic.
Guides: The guide for the bike tour follows
the group in a van. The equestrian guide is
certified by ANTE (Associazione Nazionale
Turismo Equestre). Both are well versed in
the history of the area.
Accommodations:
Double rooms with bathroom. For a single room,
there is an additional charge of 200 Euros.
Meals
Dinners:
in the restaurant of Agriturismo 'Il Poggio
della Capretta'.
Lunches: pic-nics
or restaurants.
Breakfast: before
leaving for the excursion.
Cost
of the program: 800 Euros inclusive of
meals, accommodations, horses, guides, and
transportation of luggage. |
